Biography Betti Forde has been deejaying for a decade and holds residencies at some of the longest-running underground nights in Vancouver including the notorious fetish party Sin City, Flygirl events including Hershe Bar and Chicas, FUSE @ the Vancouver Art Gallery, Weekends @ Cecil Showroom, and the now-defunct Stacked Tuesdays @ Celebrities ('04-'08) & Voda ('03-'04). She is also resident at Pulse & Canvas and often plays Red Room, Pop Opera, Gorg-a-Mish, Republic, Honey Lounge & the Lotus.
Betti has been touring internationally since 2003 and has rocked the world’s hottest club nights including Boombox in London and White Nights in Paris, and back home has been hand-picked to open for Diplo, CSS, Chromeo, Keoki, Blowfly, Felix da Housecat, Peaches, Lady Miss Kier (Dee-lite) and Derrick Carter.
Betti credits her piano and dance training and years spent clubbing with giving her the backbone of musical muscle needed to make a living as a professional DJ, alongside the skills she built up over ten years of playing out professionally. A true party-rocker, she takes the party from house to hip-hop, disco to electro, retro to future, but her true individuality as a DJ lies with her eclectic and impeccable taste in music and her intense presence and ability to connect with her crowd.
Betti also loves to sing, rap and bust into the splits, so she's one-third of the critically acclaimed electro/hiphop outfit StinkMitt, who have played with everyone from the Gossip to Para One, licensed tracks to the L-word, and changed the face of music forever. When Betti's not touring the world, she divides her time between her home in Vancouver and York University in Toronto, where she's studying towards a Ph.D in Women's Studies.
